We're Famous! LOL

I had a brief chat with Ate Pops (Arthur's cousin) this arvo regarding her upcoming wedding this March.   While discussing about her photographers, she mentioned that Arthur and I are on the brochure of our main photographer at our wedding - JayJay Lucas.  I feel somewhat embarrassed, but honoured and proud at the same time.  :)

Check it out!

We're the ones at the bottom centre, just under the word "authentic" -  the couple on the grass.  During the time that this photo was being taken, we were more than happy to lie on the grass - anything to get us off our feet.  Our day started at 2:00AM on our wedding day, so we were extremely exhausted by this time.

In case the image is quite small, here is a slightly larger version.

JayJay is an exceptional photographer.  He's also very easy to get along with, and super fun!  He works with the Imagine Nation Photography team, the ones who covered Danica Sotto's wedding.  Have a browse on JayJay's website, you will surely love the moments he has captured.

Thanks JayJay for including us in your brochure! :D

Wii Fit is Back

I'm back in the game!

I've been pretty slack (for 44 days to be exact, as Wii Fit informed me when I booted it up).  Lately I've been feeling quite heavy, and I totally blame it on my laziness to get up and move about (as well as on the Twilight Saga).

I embarrassed myself by huffing and puffing on my third activity, a better indication that I am in terrible shape (even though I am in the Ideal BMI category).  Nevertheless, 30 minutes on my first day (again) ain't bad at all.

With that, I vowed to Wii Fit for 30 mins at least four times a week.

I hope.

The Shopaholic Strikes Again

I went to Highpoint with Papa and Mama today - bad idea.  I specifically told myself that I would not shop for anything else except for my cousin's wedding.  My cousin Carlo is getting married next month and I didn't have anything to wear yet so I thought I'd take advantage of the sales currently on.

I am such a dangerous creature.  I shop like mad.  Here are my purchases for today.  *Gulp*

Davis & Waddell
Kitchen Accessories Set
Size 8-12yrs (I prefer kids aprons, they're the right size)
Apron, Tea Towel, and Oven Glove

Sheridan
King Bed Sheet Set

Sheridan
Kind Bed Quilt Cover Set

(It's annoying that they have to be purchased separately)

Cue
Wrap Tie Dress

(Front view)

(Rear view)

I have to try and pull this one off because I'm not used to being so "revealing".  The front comes down quite deep. :p

We took a break in between shopping, and stayed at Max Brenner.  Yummy!

So with that, I asked my hubby to help me reduce my spending.  Most especially for the next two months, as I need to start saving for my trip to the Philippines.

Good luck to me!

Missing Friend

My heart is aching.

For some reason, I decided to check my Friendster account this evening.  I normally don't check it anymore, but for some reason I did.

I was browsing through my friends and one thing saddened me the most - my once best friend has deleted me from her list of friends.  She has cut off my only access to her world.

Everything was fine between us just a year ago.  But our friendship became rocky when her relationship with my brother-in-law became rocky.  She was supposed to be my Maid of Honour at our wedding, but she backed out just as we were having our wedding invitations printed.  It was sad to think that her problems with my brother-in-law also affected our friendship.

She was the bestest friend I had (aside from my hubby).  She was the only girl I could connect with, with nothing false whatsoever.

Until today, we have no contact.  I sometimes leave messages for her at Friendster but no replies.  I text her on special occasions and when I think of her but no replies.

I don't want to give up on our friendship because she really was the bestest girl friend I ever had.  Although I have a terrible feeling that she has let go of our friendship.  I try to keep that thought at the back of my mind and I still hope that one day she will put aside what happened between her and my brother-in-law, and decide that our friendship is worth keeping.  What are the chances that she will think this?  I have no idea.  But I'm still hoping.

I miss you Chix.

Sooo Sleepy

I. Am. So. Sleepy.

We were at the Airport last night (upto nearly 12 midnight) to bid farewell to Tito Rene, Tita Gina and Cholo who were heading back to Manila. Lots of tears last night, but lots of laughter too! There were probably at least 28 of us there last night, which included a few kids. My kid cousins were the ones who kept us amused. In particular, my two year old cousin Dashiell. He LOVES getting his photos taken. Just show him a camera pointed to himself (he loves the camera on my mobile coz he can see himself on the screen) and he'll stop with whatever he's doing - crying or not. I took this photo of him and he is so gorgeous! I'll post it soon so you guys can see. This is probably my most favourite photo of Dash. :)

Anyway, I really have to find a way to stay awake at work today. I woke up at quarter past six, so I feel I haven't yet rebooted my system from staying up late so many nights.
Gotta. Stay. Awake.

Hello 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Here is 2009 - a brand new year of opportunities and adventures!  :D

Yesterday, I had New Years Eve lunch with two of my Colleagues, Minnie and Dilan, at Drouls.  Minnie treated Dilan and I.  I had my regular (and my favourite), chicken and mushroom risotto with extra mushrooms.  They make THE BEST chicken and mushroom risotto.  We also had some champagne with ojay to toast. :)

New Years Eve was spent at Tita Thelma and Tito 'Mado's place as per tradition.  As usual, we stuffed our faces with the yummy food.  All family members and relatives were present (except for my hubby) as well as extended relatives and friends.

The 10-second countdown for the New Year proceeded and we made as much noise as we can while kissing and hugging family members who we bumped into.

More food was served at midnight - pan de sal, ham, homemade cheese pimiento, Filipino ice cream, etc.  Part of dessert which made an impact:

Hersheys Kisses are not easily available here in Australia so we're all happy when we get a chance to eat this yummy chocolate. :)

New Years Day lunch (and dinner) at Tita Leli and Tito Mark's place.

As promised, I made my Honey Joys.  It was good to see that everyone enjoyed them.  :)

It was a nice day today, lots of eating and just hanging out.  It was quite funny coz us cousins looked like sardines in the large lounge room.

The only sad thing was that we had to say "see ya later" to Tito Rene, Tita Gina, and Cholo as they are heading back to Manila tonight.  We'll go see them off at the airport later this evening.

Overall, quite a relaxing first day of the year.  :)
